We are so blessed to have family come visit us...Grandma & Grandpa Miller drove up this weekend and we had a very nice time together. They met Samantha and quickly got to know her sweet smile and hear some laughs, too! Danielle loved the extra attention and even had us all on the living room floor playing duck,duck,goose in the evening. The weather wasn't quite so warm this weekend but we still spent the sunny hours outdoors and enjoyed the fresh air. Jeff had the idea to take them to see a neat waterfall and take a drive through the valley. The falls were gorgeous, we got a few pictures, and Danielle got a kick out of throwing rocks in the creek. I also got a cute picture of Danielle helping out in the kitchen with Grandma. Grandma makes delicious banana bread!
The last few weeks Samantha has a little trouble in the evenings not knowing what she wants. She's tired but can't sleep in her bed or swing. We're often busy doing the evening things so it can get a little stressful and I don't have enough arms to hold her. She likes being held and walked around so I decided to strap on the front pack and see what happened. She was able to relax and catch a few zzz's. So, that's what I do when nothing else seems to work for her. Here is a picture of her conked out...it doesn't look comfortable to me but she seems to like it. When she's trying to fall asleep she will rest her hands near her mouth and suck her hand or fingers. Once in awhile she'll take the pacifier but usually it's her hand. When she starts slurping it is not a quiet sound either! This is one phase I'm sure we'll tease her about as she gets older. She sleeps great through the night, which is awesome, but many nights we will wake up to her finding her hands and making the loudest sucking noises. Too funny.
